2022 Annual Meeting
Saturday, May 28th, 9:30am

Save the date for 2022's Opal Lake Association Annual Membership Meeting, typically held the Saturday of Memorial Weekend. If weather is good, bring a chair, we will have an outdoor meeting.  If raining, we will hold it inside.

A copy of 2022's Annual Letter is posted in the Documents Section under Mailings.

Parade and Picnic Update

2022 Boat Parade and Picnic

We look forward to the Gentilozzi’s announcing this year's theme at our annual meeting.  They will the lead the parade and judge this year’s winners.

We welcome even more boats to join the parade - and we welcome your family and friends to the picnic starting immediately afterwards.  We will have a sign-up sheet at the annual meeting for volunteers who can help the day of the picnic.

2021 Boat Parade and Picnic Recap

A perfect day on Opal Lake for our annual Opal Lake Association Boat Parade and Picnic. Thank you to the Denhof’s, last year’s boat parade winner, for selecting the Disney theme, leading the parade and judging this year’s boats.  We had 10 boats in the parade this year – the most I remember.  Thank you to all of the families that participated.   Pictures are loaded here: : 2021 Pictures

And the winner:  Gentilozzi’s (south side of the lake) with Minnie Mouse themed pontoon boat.   Gentilozzi’s have earned the honor of selecting next year’s theme, leading the parade and judging next year’s winners.

Thank you to so many neighbors who volunteered to cook, serve and cleanup to make this annual event a success.  We purchased 300 hotdogs and brats and had only about 20 left over.  It might have been our largest water balloon toss contest ever! See you next year.

2020 Boat Parade Recap

This year's theme was Candy.  Congratulations to the Denhof’s on the south side of the lake.  They are this year’s boat parade winner with the theme of Willy Wonka which included not only great decorations but also bubbles and lots of costumed participants.  The Denhof family has earned the privilege of selecting next year’s theme, leading the parade and judging next year’s decorated boats.

We are happy to have several first time entrants in this year's boat parade including the Gentilozzi's (south side of lake) with the Peppermint Candy theme, the Lester's (north west side of the lake) with the Lifesaver theme, and the Moug's (east side of the lake) with their Willy Wonka theme.

And a big thank you to the Robinson’s, last year’s winner, for selecting the theme, leading this year’s parade and acting as this year’s judges.

Although we didn’t have a picnic this year due to Covid19, it looks like a lot of families were still able to enjoy a beautiful day on the lake.  We look forward to having the annual picnic next year along with the boat parade and meet the many new neighbors we have on the lake.  Stay safe and healthy.

2019 Picnic Recap:
The overcast skies didn't keep anyone away from the "1969" themed boat parade and picnic.  Possibly a bigger attendance than last year.  Only six hot dogs left after everyone went through the line for lunch.  We welcomed several new neighbors to the lake this year and welcomed their participation in the boat parade.

This year's winner was the Robinson's, specifically recognized for the creative handmade Woodstock raincoat, along with the other 1969 outfits the group was wearing.   They will select the theme and judge for next year's boat parade.

Thank you to several neighbors who volunteered again this year to make this annual event a success.  The Robinson family for cooking and serving.  Cantrell's for buying food.  Nagles for cooking and serving along with organizing the water balloon toss. Mergel's for the Piñata.  Hubbs Grimm for the Limbo contest.  Lesters for the buried treasure kids activity and Frank and Eileen Sanders for the welcome table.  There were many other volunteers behind the tables helping setup, serve food, providing their grills and garbage cans, cutting cake, and cleaning up. We thank you.

Autumn Social

Stay tuned to see if an Opal Lake Autumn Social gets planned for September.
